So my button works great but when I use the remote with your ear to it you can hear it "atttempt" to release but it doesn't. Both remotes same thing. But when I push the button it opens. Anyone ever had this? Doesn't make any sense to me.

Gladly will but the remotes work the doors, no problem and I can hear the actuator in the trunk make a noise when I use the remote. But I will try new batteries and report back.

Not home yet to try anything but do the doors need to be locked or unlocked for the trunk to release with the remote?

Remote trunk unlock is not dependent on the doors but the key can't be in the ignition or maybe just not turned on. The remote won't unlock the trunk with the engine running for sure.

Added note: the car will relock in 30 seconds if you remote unlock it and don't open a door. This is actually handy as either Lock or Unlock will lock the car.

I take it no other ideas on why mine might work with the button but not the remote?

I thought I posted a note yesterday...unless we're cross-posting in different threads.

If you can open the trunk with the console button everything other than the signal from the remote controller is working as both are on the same wire (so to speak) with the console button bypassing the remote controller.

Go to page 130-1 in the Wiring Diagram and look near the center of the page. Note either the Keyless Door Lock Control Unit -- and -- the Trunk Lid Opener Switch will trigger the solenoid to open the trunk. Check the connector from the control unit as it may be disconnected.

I will check the wires to that control box that everyone loves trying to get to. I guess I will also check the voltage going to the solenoid when the console button is pushed vs when the remote button is pushed. I hope it is not the control unit itself malfunctioning.
