trying to decide..
How much i want to drive my s? seems like stupid questions but hear me out.
bought my suzuka blue S about a month ago( 2003 with 60K on it). Its in absolute perfect shape...had it looked over by a mechanic I trust and he even said the car was immaculate. Now, I love driving the car, Ive loved this car since i was a kid so its kind of a dream come true to finally own one. I dont drive the car often though and when i do, i baby it.
I would like to drive it more often and drive it like it was meant to be driven but im just worried about stuff breaking on it and the engine wear and tear. I want to keep this car for a very long time and plan to keep it close to stock (suspension, wheels and bolt-ons are all i want to do to it)
So my questions are, how often to you guys drive your S? Do you drive them hard? and if you do, how often does stuff break on it and have you noticed any loss of performance due to constant spirited driving?
thanks for any answers i can get

I just got an S about 2 weeks ago and I'm the same way as you.
I am scared to drive it in a spirited manner in fear of messing up the shifts, losing control of the car, etc. I also have a lip on my car and I freak out when I see a speed bump or pot hole - I literally drive over speed bumps like a 90 year old would climb stairs.

I have a very low mileage S2K, about 22000 miles now.
I don't park it in shopping centre car parks, but it is about 50% daily driver.
A lot of my running is on reasonable country roads, with not very long straights, & a bit of slow traffic.
I drive it a bit like a hair dresser in her miata most of the time, but when overtaking I select a gear that gives me about 6000RPM at the start of the maneuver. No point having a bit of go, & creeping past that slow farm truck, now is there?

God you bought the car to drive it... so do so. 110K with track days, nothing but regular service and a shit load of grins.
Live, before you die. Because I can tell you, on your death bed it won't be the miles or dollars in your account you'll be remembering.... but instead all the memories.

I just bought my s2k a few weeks ago, stock 04 with 50k miles. Kept my ek hatch and havent drove it since lol. I drive normal 98% of the time, get on the throttle on freeway on ramps, take some turns fast here and there. Im not that worried about the reliability of the car, but I do understand where your coming from. With that being said, it is a sports car, and it is YOUR car so drive how you want to you know? Get your confidence up, and have faith in your car, take care of it and it will take care of you... I think.

Had my S since Aug. 2011. Came with 79k miles on it and has 87k now. I baby it as much as I possibly can and I check my oil at least once a week (sometimes more), which is usually about how often I put gas in it. I drive normal most of the time but I ALWAYS hit vtec when I am first getting on the freeway. I had to rebuild my engine once last summer because of money shift(s) by the previous owner. Since I have had it though besides previous owner damage - there has been nothing wrong with it. I LOVE IT!
