Default TSB 00-054 Denied

Wow am I BS right now,
I drove all the way down to my local honda dealer to have a shop foreman drive the car to confirm it has the buzz on decel, of course he confirmed it, then the service reps tell me to call American Honda to see if I can get it "good willed". The lady at AH told denied my VIN fo the TSB as it is a wear and tear item, and even if the car was still under factory warranty it woudl have been denied because its wear and tear. She politely told me to f--- off.

I am not a loyal customer to this dealership, I did not buy it from them nor did I have it serviced by them. Its a MY01 w/ 40k miles.

Thats major BS for a defective part.

But your car is 7 years old. The TSB is not a recall. The Honda rep is right. Clutch is a wear and tear item. Even under warranty, they "might" fix it for you. But with 7 years and 40 k miles on your car...forget about it. Your clutch still works. It just buzzes.

Even after you change your clutch disk to the updated one, the buzz can come back. My friend had her's replaced with an aftermarket ACT clutch and it buzzed even more than the original.

some dealerships will replace clutches under warranty... just gotta find the good ones. ie my miata's clutch was replaced after 10000 miles (since my sister killed it) all for free

Yep, sorry man. It's not their responsibility.

TSBs are not guaranteed to be free, even if you brought it to them 5 years ago...or if you bought it from them. You may be confusing TSB with "recall".

It's WAY past warranty anyway, let alone asking a random dealer to do a clutch job for free because Honda sent out a "head's up" about a harmless noise, years ago.

that sucks to hear, but im not suprised to hear it honestly. It doesnt do anything bad. It just makes noise. I would just get it taken care of when you do some clutch or tranny work in the future.

I agree w/ all the other guys. If you were getting it done for the TSB it would have been done a long time ago. At this point you're just doing it to get a new clutch for free. Did you buy the car new? There have been people go in for the TSB on a used car. The dealership pulls it apart and finds an aftermarket clutch. Oops.

They guarantee against defective parts for 3/36. Your car is 7 years old...
