Default TSB question

Hello everyone. I just bought a 2001 S2000 and am amazed by it everytime I drive it. One thing that I have noticed is a vibration on deacceleration. I saw that there was a TSB issued regarding this issue. How do I go about having it taken care of? I bought the car used, and if I go to the Honda dealership with the TSB, will they take care of it? And will it still cost me? Thanks for your help. I was also wondering if anyone knew of a good mechanic for this car in Pasadena, CA.

Use the search and you'll be able to find out which TSB it is. Print it out or just write down which number it is and go to the dealership and show it to them. It's not a recall... Technical Service Bulletins are there for mechanics to know what they'll need to do to fix common occurring problems. What you're basically going to need is the 02/03 clutch swap I believe. I didn't want to spend the grand to just fix the noise so I'm waiting until my clutch goes before I have it done.

TSBs are not obligations by honda. they are simply service notes.

SOMETIMES they fix TSBs out of warranty. Your car is off-warranty, so it would have to be a "goodwill" repair. Often, things like the auto-down window problem are fixed, but a new clutch is expensive.

If this is your first visit to the dealer, 99% they will NOT DO IT. If you have a service history (ie, given them $$$) they may do it. The mileage will be considered, too. It is very unlikely they will do it with 40K+ miles. They MIGHT do a portion of it. I would have the car serviced there a couple times. develop a relationship with one of the service advisors. that's my advice.

I have had all the TSB's for MY00 done for free. I took a little time and effort. The call to Honda Regional CS was the key for approval. Once the dealer knew that they were going to be reimbursed they had no issue with the TSUBA

Was the car still under warranty when you did that? My car, which I have had for a week, has 48K on it right now and to the best of my knowledge hasnt had any of them done. What did you say to the CS for him to agree to it?

Thanks for all of the advice
