TSB54 - Actual time to do?
TSB54 says it should take 4.5 hours to perform the maintenance. Of the folks on this board who have had this done, how long did it actually take to get done?
I ask because I just had it done and it took 2.5 DAYS! The service manager says the 4.5 hours is only what Honda will pay the dealer. Is he BSing me or is this really true and was the 2.5 days more normal for this maintenance?
Thanks everyone. I appreciate your input.

The general rule (as of a decade or two ago) was that warranty repair flat rates are pretty lean but a good mechanic can do them in 80-90% of the quoted time. Other flat rate stuff can often be done in 50% of the quoted time. Back then Honda (motorcycles) was pretty stingy, though. Flat rates are a win-win for the dealer but a risk for the customer and tech. Top techs make a bundle on undercutting the flat rate though.
Keep in mind that a clutch replacement shouldn't take too long but also builds in probably thirty minutes of second-guy time. 2.5 days may be because they sent out the flywheel for machining (in which case you should consider yourself lucky.
That all said, 4-5 hours sounds about right. 80% = 3.5-4? It's RWD. Ain't too difficult. Somebody here is a current tech. I forgot who and would probably be able to tell you more exactly. But flat rate time ain't shop time. They didn't run out to grab your car exactly when you arrived.
Lastly, your time seems comparable to what others have reported.
