Default Turbo??

OK, now I don't know a lot about modifing cars, but I am considering adding some power to my S2000. I am more concerned with the infamous low end torque. What is the best (most efficient) way of increasing the low end power of the S2000? I've heard about the supercharger option, but how much of a difference will that actually make on the street? Does it affect the reliability of the car and is the warrantee still good? Where can you really feel the difference in a supercharged S2000 vs. a stock one? Also, I've been hearing some talk of turbos being offered for the S2000. Are they better than a superchanger? Are any for sale and for how much? What is the future of the turbo option-are companies planning on coming out with them in the future? Thanks for any answers!!

I know one answer to your question, A turbo or supercharger will VOID your warranty absolutly no questions asked.

I think pretty much anything you do along these lines will void your warranty. However, I would hope that if you blew your car up due to forced induction, that you would put the car back to stock before taking it to the dealer. That being said, the best option for low end torque is always going to be nitrous. Best all around with more low end grunt is definitely the turbo. I have one of the first turbos, proabably the best one in the US currently and it makes the car perfect. No more searching for the right gear, the power is always there. The torque curve on my turbo is flat from 5500 RPM's up (at 200 lb/ft.) and 320 RWHP at a little under 8 psi. My mechanic fabricated my setup and the first few kits are selling for $6,200.00. Yes, it's more than the supercharger but the gains are much more substantial as well.

Hey derryck, tell those guys to bust a move, huh? Each day I wait (driving my *cough* Alero) I get that much more excited for it. Saw (or rather heard) a turboed civic pass me by yesterday. Wish I had my toy too, I could only look longingly in my rental boat of a car.

Chris, don't worry, you'll be there soon. I stopped by Speedcraft yesterday and saw most of your stuff. Boy that Tial sure makes pretty stuff. If you still are running stock wheels and tires, you better start think about upgrading. I have 265 35 18's in the rear and at 8 psi you're reaching the limit of what those tires are capable of. I'm using BF Goodrich KD's which actually have more grip than the stock S02's.
