Have you seen article from SCC magzine..July Issue..
The S2000 in 2F2F was SCed and they tested car and this is their time slip..
13.9sec/99.3mph..
0-60 5.7sec..
Car had aftermarket clutch..265 rear ToyoT1-S tires..and ONLY 13.9?!?
It was their best time..and they were very disappointed.

I don't really care about the car from F&F2 but a 13.9 at 99 is hard to do, hard to do that bad. Any SC S2000 should be trapping at over 100...104 would be more understandable. I don't really care what the ET is...that MPH is way low. The driver and/or car sucks. If you ever see an NA S2000 vs a SC S2000 (such as in this video of me vs an NA when I was still SC) you'll know that these times mean nothing...they just couldn't drive and/or launch the car.

Very cool comparison, thanks to Wesmaster for sharing. If you change to a set of beefier rear axle, don't you just mess up with weight distribution F/R?, or balance of the handling, or the car? Just curious...

Naw, stronger and heavier don't always have to come together. Even if the metals used were heavier, we're not talking 50 lbs, but maybe 1-5 lbs per axle...shouldn't have much of a negative affect. I'm just speaking in theory, I have no experience with purchasing racing axles.

Even if the axles were a bit heavier it would help even out the weight distribution since you are adding weight to the front of the car with a turbo or a supercharger.

Wes - I thought you were looking into new axles?

I have been for the last 2 years. I've just had other things to fix or other mods to put on. I don't see this as much of a preventative measure. If they snap I'll get racing axles. It's not like the rear end where it's destroying so many other parts when it fails. So, I'm just waiting. Also, it's possible that the rear end failures are the cause of the axle failures (in my situations). So, my axles might be alright now that I've got the rear end beefed up...but only time will tell. Also, with the J's 4.44 gear set and now the turbo I'm not launching hard at all.
