Default Turning off private messaging

Starting immediately, I'm going to turn off the PM feature for myself and take only email. It's just easier to mangage and I can provide better responses and not lose or forget information, which I do too often

Thanks for your consideration, everyone!

Sounds like a bad idea to me. As a business (whether it is your main source of income or not) you want to make it easier for your potential customers to reach you not harder. If I read a thread a find something I am interested in, I can just click the PM button to find out more info from you. Plus, why the hell would you want your personal email bombarded? Think how annoying that will be when your actually waiting for an important email.

I think if I can't handle typing in www.s2ki.com then I can handle opening my e-mail rather that sending a PM. Not a big deal. And I'm sure if I had as many PM's as you guys do, I would do the same.

When you turn off PM, the Email button fills it's place. It's just as easy to send an email through S2ki as it is to send a PM so I don't see why potential customers would complain.

And it's a real burden making sure all you PM's are looked after in the long term. I'm with Rick and Mingster on this one. My PM is to be turned off also.

I agree with Rick, email is much easier to handle. When you click on EMAIL in this forum, the same click as PM, the email goes to your email program then you reply the same way as a PM. I use my email management program, Outlook 2002, to store the information and I don't clutter this forum's server. Plus, if my internet, Cox.net, is down (which is a lot latley) I can still review the saved email.

Never mind for some reason I never noticed that mail icon. I still wouldn't want my personal email bombarded though.

I'm doing this because I can provide better service and response through email, mainly because I can organize the records properly for follow up. I was getting 10-20 PMs a day, which makes it very hard to stay on top of.

I don't see what the big deal turning it off is, instead of a customer hitting the PM button, the hit the Mail button. Real tough! Email works much better for record keeping, for sure.
