twisted a lug nut
I have my car parked in my garage for the winter. I thought i would pull the wheels off and give it a good cleaning. When i got to the right rear wheel, I had some trouble getting one lug off. I went all out and snap, split the spline drive socket in half. It also twisted the splines on the stud. Oh well its winter and i got about three months to fix. I was doing this with a 1/2" breaker bar.
This is too late for you but for future reference, it might be of some use, particularly the part about looking after the lugs:

Thanks xviper, but the car only had about 1000 miles on it since last time the wheels where off. I always clean the studs and dab a little anti-sieze on them. It looks to be a faulty lug nut. Oh well i like to mess with the car anyways. I like to get my maintence out of the way now so i can get the karts ready for racing season.
I used a torque wrench, and like i said it was just one. I have a 40'x30' garage loaded with tools and welders and plasma cutters. I was just stating that i twisted a lug nut. On one of my kart racing sites there is one guy who i set up this year and let him use my scales to get his boy going in the right direction. He was totally new to karting less than a year ago. Guess what he has well over 700 post giving guys help in that small amount of time. All he is to some is a screen name that sounds educated, but in real life he cant even finish a race. So in short just because i dont post three times an hour doesn't mean i am an uneducated moron and also it also means just becuase you posted a 1000 times, your the S2000 engineer
