finding a white S2k alone is difficult, add on to that finding a low mileage AP1 GPW and it sounds nearly impossible.

I wanted a GPW AP2 and could never find one...then last month found a sweet deal and now have the Laguna and love it

FYI, this is the response I got for car 2

"Hello, thank you for your inquiry.

I hope I can answer most of your questions.

I do have the title to the car.

The reason of the sale is that the car belongs to my father who has suffered a brain injury and can no longer drive. The car was stored in his garage in PA (he was a FL snow bird) and only driven on occasion in the summer months, he also had another larger car he used there more regularly.

I can send you pictures of the tires, interior etc. as offhand I can not remember specific spots of wear. I have only ever driven the car around the block..we used a car transport service (not tow) to bring it here when we sold his house.

We replaced the battery as soon as we brought it back, other than that I do not have the records and my father would have no memory of these.

We do have the keys and owners manual.

We can only be so flexible on the price as the money will go towards his long term health car (and he is young in his 60's).

Thank you again for your interest!! I will try to take more detailed pictures for you."

Since Wiggum seems to think I should try to hold out for a GPW with low miles, does anyone else think that that's a pipe dream based on my specific criteria? I know I could probably come across one in the future, but I'm not so sure that I would be able to find a pristine one with low miles.
Search autotrader and see how many there are in the US. that will give you an idea.

you can probably buy one if you're willing to go 1000 miles to get it.

otherwise, the one for $14.5 sounds like the real deal. test it out and see!

It's possible that it's a pipe dream. And your criteria actually makes it much harder. But at the same token, if 6 months from now one becomes available, you won't be able to help feeling sick you didn't wait. Just my $0.02.

Thanks for the advice. I just looked, and there are none, anywhere.

Within the past two months, I bought an '02 with 4702 miles (!), and sold my first '02 which had 50k miles -- based on the purchase and sale prices of those two cars, I think ~$15k would be a good deal for either of the cars you posted. Good luck!

The first one for $14,500 is a very good deal.
You're not going to find many cars with all red inetrior.
Probably offer him $14,000 and its a done deal.

So, Car 1 got sold just as I was on my way to go see it...oh well. I am planning on going and checking on Car 2 in hopes of getting them to lower the price. If not then I'll just walk away. But, how much do you think I should be shooting for? I mean the car only has 11,000 miles, which I think is pretty ridiculously low, but I was wondering what kind of price difference do you think there would be for that car compared with the identical year/color combo w/ 40,000 miles?

^^^I guess that depends on what the low mileage car is worth to the buyer.
