type of gas? 85 87 91 e85 octane?
i remenber someone telling me if i switch to 91 then i get 15 more hp.
im not to sure this is right but i could be wrong anyone know?
and a 110 gain in hp with e85 and a tune.
my friend just got a evo tune with e85 and made 420 on stock turbo
but he said he only made that high because he has a turbo. and it wouldnt do anything for me hp wise
but save me some gas money and get like 35+ mpg

its getting kinda cold here.
so if i even go e85 ima be getting a cold start map
E85 is damaging to run in an engine not made for it.
You do not gain hp by running higher octane but you resist knock and detonation which is useful for high performance N/A and turbo charged engines. The other benefit is that "premium fuel" has better cleaning additives which will keep your fuel system and motor cleaner in the long run. Most people only think of it as an octane advantage.

Octane is measured on government approved equipment which counts the knocks per minute. I'm fairly positive that 100 octane is used as the standard thus- 85octane would have knocked 15 times versus 91 octane knocking 9 times. An octane of say 104 would knock 4% fewer times that 100 octane.
Yeah the reason he got some much power was because he is turbo and turned the boost way up and was able to run that high boost without getting knock due to the higher octane.
I just use 93 since it is readily available. Car needs 91 or better.
