Default Typical 4-banger sound?

I'm looking to buy and exhaust for my car and I'm just wondering, Do S2000s with aftermarket exhausts sound like evryother 4-banger running an exhaust out there? I've heard one before but it was superchagered and sounded really mean. I liked

I heard way to many civics, sentras, tercels drive by with there exhausts and I don't want my S to sound like just another econobox with an exhaust.

What are your opinions?

Not at all. I was a bit worried at first, but I listened to a few sound clips and was instantly convinced to buy an exhaust. Or, if you can, get together with another S2000 driver (with aftermarket exhaust) - that's the best way to help you with your decision.

my expeirience has been that engine sound and exhaust note are two different things.......which are you talking about.

I think that you have the best engine sound for a NA four cylin. on the planet....I like the whail that the engine gives....not quite the howl of an F1 engine.......but it'll do.

The Engine sounds better than any other 4 cylinder engine I've heard. I'm talking about the exhaust note, Its seems almost every 4 cylinder car hear in So. Cali has some sort of an exhaust and they all either sound like a lawnmower or a constant fart!

I don't want the S to sound like that.

If you really want your car to sound good, get a Comptech CAI.

I don't think the stock exhaust sounds like a normal 4 banger. Everyone thinks it's a 6.

I think the S2000 in it's stock form does not even sound like a 4 banger. sometimes it seems like the car sounds like it has supercharger. The s2k definitely has a very distinct sound unlike other 4 bangers.

One thing I do like is after you start the car, a few seconds later you hear a fan come on for a few seconds. It has a nice electric whrrrrr to it.
