I was doing some web searching and stumbled on the web sites for Gillman Honda in the Houston and San Antonio area. Out of curiosity, I did a search of their inventories to see what S2000's they might have in stock.

www.gillmanhondahouston.com
www.gillmanhondasanantonio.com

The Houston dealer listed 3 MY04's and 5 MY03's at the following prices:

'04
Black - $34,185
Silver - $34,185
Red - $33,290

'03
(2)Silver - $39230 and $39030
(2) Whites - $39230 each
Spa Yellow - $33,955

They don't specify which silver, the silvers are but what's with the 39k retail? Is this a typo left over from the MY00 and MY01 years or are these guys delutional? Do you think there are still folks out there stupid enough to pay a $7k premium on these cars? I also found it interesting that the MY04's are priced lower than most of the older MY03's. I'm not trying to stir anything with that statement although I'm sure some pre-MY04 owner will get a "little" mileage out of it!

The San Antonio dealer only listed 2 MY03's, a white and yellow one at $33,060 which is full retail if I'm not mistaken.

What do you think?

I bet they read this board and they're having delusions of grandeur because all the previous owners were going on about how the past S2K's were so much better and worth more. And then somebody there got some hairbrained idea about jacking it up to see if anybody bites.

Most 03's are going out the door for 29,000. I had a dealer offer me a 03 for 28,300. If it had been GP white with Tan I would have jumped on it however it was a Suzaka and I have one!

Then I'm glad I don't live where you live! Then again, this might be normal pricing for the Houston area too but if it is, I won't be buying mine in the Houston area.

One thing I absolutely will not do is pay more than MSRP for a new car. If you'd have asked me a year ago what I expected to pay for an S2000, I would have said MSRP (and probably would have been happy to pay it) but I've read enough on this forum to know that, now a days, we can do a lot better than that. When I'm ready, I'll contact a number of dealers in the Houston area and make an offer. If they're reasonable, we'll do business. If not, I have no qualms about traveling somewhere else.

I was going to buy the Spa Yellow S2000 from Gillman Honda in the Houston...before I got the Rio Yellow S2000 from John Eagle here in Dallas.

Gillman Honda wanted list price for it, but got them down to $29,800 for it, until they disclosed that it had been hit while parked and had $3000 + worth of work done to it...so I passed on the deal, and the dealer...
