Hi All,
I'm a relatively a new owner to a 2004 black s2000 and absolutely love it. I came from an ITR and absolutely no regrets.

I see that there is a black button located on the bottom left of the dash when your in the driver's seat. So that means on the dash closes to the driver side door. I noticed it when I was looking to see if there was a coin holder like on the ITR or the TSX.

Does anybody have an idea what the button is for? I tried pushing it, but nothing happens. I think its the it may have to do iwth the Honda security sytem?

 

It's the passenger ejection seat mod. It only operates if the car is moving more than 25 mph and the top is down.

 

I have one too... I have no idea what it does but I know it is part of the Factory Honda security system b/c I traced the wires off of it when I chenged seats.

 

If it is part of the OEM security system it switches to valet mode (and other things). Press for 1-2 seconds to set/reset.

... from memory, with the system unarmed and ignition off (I might have edited again tonight if someone else doesn't post more accurate details)

 

What does the valet mode do? Disable the trunk?

 

can u take a pic? b/c i don't think this is OEM.

 

Allows others to drive the car without setting off the alarm if they have the valet ket and no remote. For car being serviced or valet parked.

 

Might be OEM optional install or some other brand of alarm...

 

offered by Honda, or the dealers....

 

never seen one on mine. what does this thing look like?
