"The Ultimate Penalty Box"
I'll offer the dissenting opinion that mine weren't very good daily drivers. I can deal w/ the rough ride, but they were too noisy (and not in a pleasant way) w/ the top up. I also felt the door panels were a bit snug. To be fair, both mine were AP1's, the last one w/ stiffer susp. and HKS exhaust. A stock AP2 might be OK due to a bit more interior space and less revvy nature.
The attributes that don't make it a great DD also make it a lot of fun when you're playing around, though!

my 07 is a dailey driver... i have no problem with only having two seats, limited capacity and lots of noise.
because:
1) i dont have to luggage around as many people.
2) there for i have an excuse to drive my brother's 07 RANG ROVER.
and........
3) i dont have to listen to my lady YAPPING all the time!!

I am looking to get an S2000 in a month or so. I drove a model year 2000 and liked it; I expect the 2007 to be better and will be test driving one soon.
The latest Road & Track, in forecasting a new, small roadster from Honda, called the S2000 "the ultimate penalty box" in day to day use due to the stiff ride and high-revving nature. Is it really THAT bad in day to day use? I don't want a weekend garage queen. I suspect this article was written by someone who hasn't actually lived with one for a while, and was just taking info they read and came up with the phrase. Still, a test drive doesn't always tell you what a car is like to drive day to day. I have a 1997 Miata and I don't mind driving it all the time, though it is worlds apart top-up vs. top-down.
I'd even like to... -gasp- take the S2000 on a road trip once in a while, maybe 200-300 mile radius.
Anyone who has lived with the latest S2000, pleae chime in...

I have had my S now for 3 months and it is my daily driver.
Is it louder, stiffer and generaly less "cushy" than other cars? You bet. Does that matter to me? nope, I knew what I was getting into when I bought it.
If you are expecting a civic or an accord you will be dissapointed by the ride and noise. Much like one review I read on autotrader.com by a woman who complained "needs sound supression and a softer ride, Honda should know better" She was expecting a 2 seater civic convertable and was dissapointed. I'm sure she got a Sebring or a PTsnoozer.

The car is wonderful and feels great. I hate having to drive "normal" cars because they feel like crap

Damn Justin, why don't you quit beatin' around the bush and tell us what you REALLY think?

I think I agree with you, but it depends on how you define "normal."
The S2000 is wonderful, and it does feel great, but every time I drive my wife's Benz I find myself falling in love with the car. I find myself thinking how nice it would be to have an identical car of my own, but with the V-8. It's easy to find clean one's cheap, but then I start thinking about which of the other cars I'd get rid of (because we are just out of room), and I always decide that I really like all the cars we own.
Aren't Mustangs pretty "normal." FWIW, they're fun.

OTOH, I can have fun in just about any car.
I guess in this context "normal" might mean any car that isn't like the S2000, and I'm not sure I agree with that.

Driving cars with vastly different characteristics makes them all more enjoyable.
