"The Ultimate Penalty Box"
If you've DD a miata, the S2000 should be fine. It's a tight fit, and getting in and out take a little longer, but it's a lot of fun to drive. It's all about trade-offs. A car with this good a power to weight ratio, with great handling and a 30K price tag, agains the small size. Maybe the R&T writter is a Big and Tall shopper. If you're both over 6ft and heavy, the S is going to be a tight fit. R&T has said a lot of nice things about this car too though:

if you can't handle the tough ride, you shouldn't get a sports car.

Many great sports and GT cars have very supple suspensions, and under the right conditions a sports car with more suspenseion travel can run away and hide from an S2000. The S2000 suspension feel reminds me more of a race car or an old British roadster than anything else.
FWIW, our MY90 Miata has a far more supple suspension than the S2000.
It's my daily driver as well and I've taken road trips from Chicago to Lewiston Maine, Long Island New York (both multiple times), Fort Collins Colorado, Galveston, Texas, etc. Great for me and my wife and the trunk holds 2 suitcases easily along with room leftover.

I think Tak_one_77 hit the nail on the head. It's not the ride or power band that makes the car so hard to live with, it's all the time you have to spend fending off the ladies.

Its my only problem with the car. Or should I say the only problem my car creates

The ride is not stiff. I find it compliant for a roadster. My 300C SRT-8 rides stiffer than the S2000.
The noise, on the other hand...that's another issue...

Seems to me it would have to be somewhere between 8-1/2 and 9-1/2.

Anyway, it's all relative, and a lot depends on what one is use to driving. I didn't think the British roadsters were stiff until I started driving Italian Roadsters. Most people are going to be coming from cars with a more compliant ride, so the S2000 is going to seem harsh in comparison.
I'm glad to find this thread. Whenever I happen to find the right 2000 it will end up being my daily driver.
As far as noise and harsh ride, I'll be moving from a 1991 Toyota MR2 so I doubt the ride could be much louder or stiffer in an S2K.

I don't daily drive my S but it actually rides better than my lowered Civic. I would find the interior a little small and the visibility with the roof up a little too limited for daily driving.

LOL, I don't know if they're quieter or not. My hearing is now impared from driving the S too fast for too long.
