I've enjoyed sports cars and roadsters ever since I was a wee kid (now 24). The closest thing to a sports car I owned was an Audi A3. Mind you that even then I still wanted more. Although I test drove a few s2000's and several other roasters, I never knew what owning one as a DD would be like. Nevertheless, I knew that I had to have one regardless because... well because.

Anyways, after finally owning one for 2weeks (300 miles later). No regrets, although I can understand the editors. The s2000 is by no means meant for the average car owner. Its a purists car. Only those who can enjoy the S for what it is will appreciate it.

Crazy as it may sound, I dont ever want to own another car besides the S. As long as she'll let me, I'm going to keep her.

I am on my 3rd s2000 and have taken it on 2,000+ mile road trips, all as my daily drivers, and I am over 6' tall. That should say something

I've done several 10 hour road trips and it's fine.

What I hate though is at a redlight having to stomp on it just to keep up with a mini van when the light turns green.

This summed up my post I was about to make. I think we're all biased here, in that we all love our cars and love the feel of the direct feel of the road which makes the S2000 such a fun car to drive.
I DREAD the thought that one day I may have to drive a sedan... if anything, it'll be an STI or an M5 or something.

Thought I'd chime in as well.

I have had my MY02 Sebring for 1.5 years now, and it is my daily driver.

I've driven it to Toronto (1000mi one-way), St. Louis (590mi one-way), and Destin Beach.

I use it to do groceries, to park at the airport (carry-on fits well and my laptop bag in the passenger seat) when I fly out for business, and most importantly of all:

This car is SO MUCH FUN to drive, you hardly notice the flaws that RT and C&D bring out. Like toro stated, this car was designed to be driven.

If you want something that's comfortable, luxurious, etc, then this car isn't for you.

If you want something that can truly be DRIVEN, and puts a perma-stupid-grin on your face each time you rev the engine, then this car is for you.

Cheers and good luck!

what's up with these posts these days?

I dd my car, don't have problems, weekend long drives and everything is good.

if you can't handle the tough ride, you shouldn't get a sports car. but honestly, if you put coilovers on any ride, the ride is gonna be rough, and it's good that s2k has the stiff suspension like how a sports car should.

My dad and I drove my MY01 from Florida to Kansas when I first bought it with 63,000 miles. We had no problems at all. It is my DD and I wouldn't trade it. It even does pretty good in the snow as long as you don't drive like a crazy man. I have now had it for over two years and only put about 13,000 miles on it. I used to have a patrol unit I got take home and to work everyday. Now from switching jobs I drive the S everyday.

As for AstroPhsx's post wouldn't gears help this out?
