Here is an update to an old thread.

I had the voodoo aluminum shift knob on my car for 9 months now and I like it much better than stock. Shorter throws and I prefer the ball shift knob configuration much more than the stock pistol grip version.

I now have the 'Doug Whalen' heavy, mirror finish, stainless steel shift knob on my car for 2 weeks now. Here are my impressions.

THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE!

The mirror polish on this knob is awesome! Look at the links below for pictures of this knob on a Z3..

This stainless steel knob gives the shift action a solid smooth feel. With the lighter weight aluminum and titanium shift knobs, some shifts still feel notchy. But with the stainless steel ball knob, shifts are like butter.

The ball of the stainless steel knob is also larger and fits better in ones hands. This stainless steel ball shift knob in general just feels more
