Under brace comapriosn please!
hey guys, does any1 have experience with these two? doe sone work better then the other?? also for those with the Cusco brace, do u guys feel it made a difference? i am in the market for one, and i like the Cusco brace, but im not sure how it performs comapred to its competition.
I use the Muz & have been for some time. I have tracked the car and found it to work great. One big reason I like it is because when I chane oil it does not get all over the brace and then everywhere else.

They have been shown to all be equally ineffective.
If you get one, it is to protect the oil pan from road hazards.

Regarding your second statement, I fully agree, especially if your car is lowered. When my car was lowered, my Spoon X-brace saved my oil pan on countless occasions.

I just installed Rick's billet x-brace tonight, and it's awesome. Just like when I had subframe connectors installed on my Mustang, I get the same results with the S2k. You really notice it in the corners. The car feels much more solid as you get closer to the limits of the car.

If you travel on pretty much flat smooth roads you will most likely not feel a difference.

An X-Brace from a good manufacturer will lead to improved handling period! Both Cusco and Muz are reputable manufacturers. Either will give you improvement. I am partial to Muz as he has been a good friend for many years on this board. I know he stands behind everything he sells very personally. By the way in the early days here on the board I worked a bit with Richard Ming (later of Import Developement Fame) on his Spoon knock-off as well as Mark DiGrappa on his billet aluminum brace. Anyone who doesn't think the X-Brace makes a difference simply don't have all their bolts tightened. At one point I had 16 aerospace grade inputs (i.e. accelerometers/charge amplifiers) monitoring the chassis with the DiGrappa X-Brace. To be honest the change in stiffness was noted before the end of the driveway. Based on refence data taken before the install. The only reason Honda hasn't knocked this off yet has been cost.

P.S. Mark DiGrappa X-Brace = Ricks

I think i believe him.
I can't wait to see if the CR has an X-brace.
BTW: I added the Spoon X-brace when my car was new. I think it does improve the handling. I think it makes the oversteer a little more predictable if that makes any sense.
EDIT: to the OP: One difference between the braces is apparent whe it comes time to change the oil. The Spoon brace makes a mess unless you fashion a little trough out tinfoil for the oil flow past the brace. Some of the other braces won't give you this problem. I don't know which ones myself, only that the Spoon X-brace is one of the "messy" ones.

I've seen the results from back to back comparisons on the track. Same driver, same car, same day, same track. They drive the track without the brace, install the brace, drive the track again. Lather rinse, repeat. It made NO difference to the lap times.
Seat of the pants feel is not scientific. Lap times are.
