Default Under the dashboard -- is there supposed to be a cover?

Just bought my S2000 (2005 roadster), and I love it!

But, a couple of weeks after first getting it, I've started to notice some things. One of which is that on both the passenger and drivers sides, there are no covers underneath the dashboard, so the wiring is exposed. Is it supposed to be like this? On the passenger side, there is a component that is covered with thin foam -- what's this for if not to pad against some sort of cover?

I'm a little bit worried about this. I'd really appreciate if someone could upload a picture of how it's supposed to look.

Cheers,
Nick

It would help if you could upload pictures...then members here could quickly let you know what you are missing (if anything).

Welcome to the club!

I think it is normal as well, especially the passenger side.

Is it my imagination or is your hood release on the gas pedal side of the driver well?

Must be an AP2 thing as my 2002 model is on the left side near the dead pedal as is every other Honda I've ever seen. Interesting.

On the driver side, you should have another piece under the steering wheel.

Can't find a good photo, but it is part 29 of the Instrument Panel Garnish. Maybe the angle of the photo is just throwing me off, but it looks like you're missing it, since the valet switch is under the steering column.

Hopefully someone else will confirm or deny, or post up a photo. I'm 2500 miles from my car or else I'd take a look.
