Default understanding a carfax report

Ok, just got a carfax on a potential s2000 and I'm puzzled on some of the information.

Says:
Date Miles Source Comments
10/31/02 3 service facility service,misc,ectrical

11/22/02 23 dmv title issued

11/22/02 service plan co service contract

11/22/02 dealer inventory vehicle sold

11/22/02 dmv registered

I don't understand why it has this servicing noted prior to sale. Is this standard because I haven't seen this before on any carfax I've pulled?

It sounds like the Dealer was directly linked to Carfax. When the dealer has a direct link the information posted in the report is much more detailed

Of course - but they don't have to report that to Carfax. When you see the car has been prepped on Carfax it means the dealer's DMS Box (Accounting computer) is directly linked to Carfax.

It is something Carfax has been pushing for years, but most dealers do not want a 3rd Party source having direct access to the most crucial computer system within the dealership. As a dealer myself, I have been turning down Carfax for this ever since they rolled their program out. The dealer who had the car in this thread's original post is obviously more trusting than most.
