Default the universal question...CAI or SR?

okay so im sure that this question has been asked over and over and over again but lemme annoy some people by asking it again:

cold air or short ram for my s2k? i dont plan on putting in a supercharger or a turbocharger any time soon cuz my car is still under warranty for quite some time. i already have the invidia v3 exhaust system lined up for my car and i like a good sound to my car as well. suggestions?

i have a aem v2 cai on my s2k and a buddy of mne has the aem sr on his. Personally i do not feel a diffrence at all, but the sound is slighty diffrent. Cai v2 has a deeper tone than the sr intake, thats the only thing i noticed diffrent, if your short on funds you should just go a SR, anyway you wont get waterlock when the tsunamis start rolling in.

I think you're better off with the stock air box than getting a SR w/o a heat shield. The stock airbox is already very efficient. If you get a SR w/o a heatshield then you're just sucking in hot air into your intake and might end up losing power!

If you're going to get a SR, consider the K&N one since it has a heatshield and the intake tube is made of plastic (vs. metal which absorbs a lot of the engine's heat).

Personally, I just got a cooling plate with the stock air box. Some people have the cooling plate with the K&N. For me, the CAI required too much work and I didn't want to do any cutting of the car.

keep it stock. just remove the air box cover and change to HKS filter, and you will hear the induction sound.
my buddy he work in a body shop, he had dyno a s2000 w/ stock air box w/ spoon N1 exhaust , and another S w/ CAI and buddyclub spec-III exhaust.
the one w/ CAI lose TQ.

yeah ive already removed the air box cover. so the HKS filter is the best? any difference in the filters? k&n does have reusable filters though lol
