Unorthodox Racing PULLEY SET
The problem is that 7075 is clad. So once you cut it, it is softer. We used to think so too. That is why we had a few test sets run. As it turns out, they showed ware really quickly.
To run the pulleys again, takes thousands.

What are we looking at for sales for a run? I'm interested in a set you have left.. can you email me some pics of them since you said they didn't do as good of a job? I'll pm my email address to you..
Also you should be able to get 7075 with no cladding. Shouldn't be needed either because thats really only used for corrosion resistance. Without cladding and hard anodized it will supass 6061.

if I remember ricks saves only 1 pound. all show there, won't feel any performence gains. From what I've heard about the Unordethox ones is that they save an additional 4lbs! Highest I've heard thus far for the S as far as pulley sets go. still gains will be minimul, but slightly higher.
almost 2 lbs if i remember reading correctly (1lbs 10.1oz) with the ricks... also most of that weight loss with the Unorthodox set is in the crank... and thats why you will see a better gain. Ricks doesn't do a crank and Unorthodox doesn't do a idle and tensioner.

3) "How do Unorthodox Racing pulleys give me more power?"
Weight reduction is how we are able to increase Horsepower! Each pound of weight removed from the crankshaft is worth approximately 2.7HP and the gains jump even more dramatically with forced induction, nitrous and variable valve timing." quote from UR website
At 2.7 hp per lb, across the band width, that makes Ricks set making 3+ HP - thats not the $60/hp that forced induction offers, but its not bad either. It would be interesting if anyone had a dyno on just the Ricks pulleys install. Only real way to tell.

wasn't there like no dampening with the harmonic pulley? why won't you get a set from ricks thats if they are still selling them...

you are right. I would only only do it on a stock car. If you have a turbo or s/c it's a bad idea. I have shattered oil pump gears before because of no dampening on the pulley. So for that money it's not worth it and its not balanced. Get a fluid dampener but they are alot more $$$
