Well, I don't think s2ki is liable or responsible for any fraudlent transaction between its users. But they can start helping with a new section. Under Marketplace. They can start a section called.
Buyers / Sellers ratings. Here's a link from Supraforums. Where aftermarket parts is a huge thing for that car and there's so many transactions. So that way, if you are looking into a purchase from a buyer. You can do a search on them. Or just post up a thread, see what's people's response on a specific buyer/seller. If there's No response, that will force the buyer/seller being more careful when they are processing with their transaction.

The official BAD guy thread
Hate to pick the scab, but if you get ripped off over the telephone is the phone company responsible? If you get ripped over from a newspaper ad is the newspaper responsible? This is a perfect case of 'Don't shoot the messenger'!
How about we circulate Trent's contact details and all start calling him. At work, at home, on his cell phone. It's got to get to him eventually. He'll probably lose his job if he doesn't resolve it quickly.
I'm happy to call and I'm in Aus.

Seems to me that one of the problems is that the Utah CO(s), and other related folks including site moderators like yourselves don't have sufficient power to red-flag individuals. I don't think member vigilantism is really appropriate, though I'm glad Steve took this one on personally. As everyone has pointed out, bad eggs make a problem for all of us in terms of credibility, etc.
The For Sale forum needs some sort of ranking system for folks to keep tabs on ongoing sales and rate the "vendor"s. Of course, we will run into problems for folks who haven't sold anything or have sold before without causing a problem. I don't see any way to avoid problems in those cases.
So, what's the punishment if a sale goes bad? I think a banning is appropriate. This needs to be brought up with the site admins.

that could be an idea.....
I want trent banned from this site... because, he did NOT provide any information about the packages being returned, he provided NO tracking numbers, HE DID NOT keep trip updated about the situation.... the list goes on and on...
im not some who sells things for a living but if i was given money by some one else to purchase goods from me i would break my back to get them their goods in the time i stated, if something went wrong in the delivery of the goods, i would contact the customer tell them what went wrong then try another company.. not the same one 3 times over! (like trent apparently did).
It's a dam shame that this guy got pulled for money. But the fact is it happens all the time. It happens via phone, internet.. Hell it happens at your front door with cold call solicitations.
We're not going to effect internet fraud on the internet nor are we going to effect fraud on the S2KI forums. Bottom line, if some guy wants to bend you over the rail, he's going to do it and the only recourse you all have is to piss and moan about it for 18 freekin pages,
If you do business with someone, do it with a 3rd party solution of keeping monies held until satisfied.
This ripping people off is something anyone whos lived any amount of life has all gone through.
Chock it up to a life lesson and move on.
You can chase this guys tail for months and months, statistics say your not getting bupkiss back from him.

we can try our hardest to prevent fraud on s2ki. yes we may not catch them before the commit the offence but we can stop them doing it again on our forums and maybe others if the word spreads.
