because there are OTHER financing sources beside honda's captive financial company.

what the hell have I been making payments on for 14 months?
there could be an issue of lease inception dates and documetn versions here. leases undergo revisions over time. a previous version may not have the same terms and conditions as anewer one. honda may have permitted it on early lease agreements, only to find that they were having a higher-than-expected default rate on the assumed leases. i don't know.

This is amusing, 2 people that haven't assumed a lease on a lease transfer before, telling someone who has it doesn't work.

Do you guys also go around telling astonauts that we didn't land on the moon?

I'll contact both Honda and Leasetrader, get their remarks and post them here with their names so you can verify it with them personally. I won't have live audio and pictures though so I won't be able to back it up.

you're taking this personally.

read my responses. i'm just pointing out other possibilities.

you've stated that leasetrader somehow alters the contract between hfs and the lessor: that isn't going to happend unless both origianl aprties agree to it.

you've also assumed that ALL S lease are sourced by hfs. that is clearly not the case.

you've also stated that hfs would not like to have two people on the hook for an obligation. well that just flies in the face of what a risk-averse fianncial institution would do.

and then you talked about how the original lessee could drive the car any time they wanted, given they were still obligated under the lease. well that would be corrected by a simple release.

it is possible that there are multiple hfs lease forms. maybe even differing by state.

sbeall, any updates?

bad news is i found out leasetrader reputation is quite bad. some ppl got scammed by leasetrader. (at porsche and mercedes benz forums)

i dont understand why leasetrader forces you to apply for credit just to contact the seller for more information.

also, leasetrading website says HondaFS, while allowing lease transfers on individual basis, there is still CONTINGENT LIABILITY.

Please tell us how leasetrader can completely remove original leasee off the contract, and contact # for both hondafs & leasetrader you talked to.

I assumed a lease from Honda, I'm Canada so it may be different. But the original party is still responsible if I default.
