An update to my previous message http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...hp?threadid=381

I told them I would not take the repainted one. So I am getting a 2001 Silver/Black for $500.00 over sticker and they are still giving me the full amount for my trade-in. Should be here within 6 to 8 weeks. He said he should have the VIN for me any day now.

Thanks for all your helpful comments.

Good call. I would have done the same thing. You would have never felt comfortable with that car probably

Congratulations! I'm glad they were able to get you another one. The way people have been posting lately it seems these things are rarer now than they were when I bought mine.

Congrats.
I think it works out for the better.
Now you get a 2001 model w/ higher resale value than the 2000 one, not to mention it comes w/ a clock, floor mats, and areo screen all for ~$1,000 more.

Now all you need is something to keep the wait out of your head. Tick-tock, tick-tock.

Plus it comes with a trunk release in the trunk if you ever get stuck inside.......how the hell you would ever get stuck in that tiny trunk I will never know!

Maybe in the back of a Chevy but not in a S2000 trunk. The only way I could fit in there would be in such a manor that I would not be among the living.

Congratulations! Glad you came out ahead on this one. BTW, after a "crunch" I had a while back - although the reapir shop did an excellent repair job, I can still see a one-shade difference in the panels that were painted (especially on a cloudy day). Maybe more obvious because it's white. I reckon you were right not to accept a repaint on the fender. Enjoy your new toy!

Pinky, you're just not flexible enough. I can fit in easily (though not comfortably). I just can't figure out why anyone would be in there and, more to the point (accidently?) close the lid.

It's a good place to put the kids when you're going on vacation!

Also, doesn't the mafia always put their intended victims in the trunk! (Well, that's what happens in the movies.)
