Upgrade attempt musings
I, like many here looks for improvements. Thinking of all the upgrades out there for our cars, I suddenly came to the realization that put a smile to my face.
For $2500, I can get a slightly modified 1990 240SX (springs, new tires, 16" wheels). RWD, good balance, nice sports car. For an additional $2000~$3000, I can drop in an SR20DET engine from Japan. With an additional $1000 in various extras, the car can achieve upwards of 400 horsepowers without too much tweaking, with straigh line performance matching or exceeding the S2000. All for (little finger extended by my mouth) about $6000.
Now, we go out and get the $5000 SC, the $1500 header, and the $1200 exhaust, what we spent on can be another car.
Just thought that was amusing.

As many have said before, if you want to Mod and tinker this is probably not the car for you.
The bang for the buck is just not there in the Mod department.
Personally I hate working on cars so I bought a car that would run fast, hard and reliabily for a long time with no mods. This way I can have Honda fix the problems for the next 7 years.
When I'm no longer satisified with the speed of the S2000, I'll just buy something faster. But for now it's pleanty fast enough for me.

SR20DET = 2.0 DOHC Turbo motor. Found in Japanese 240's (known as the Silvia over there). Rock solid block, holds 450hp untouched.
The S15 (latest model, 99+) comes with 250hp, 6 speed, and 4WS, said to handle as well as the Skyline - high praise. Can run a 13.8 bone stock. Beautiful car too...can't find a pic at the moment.
