Logic says, you will not find ap2 owners switching to ap1...because they had already had the choice of choosing ap1, and by purchasing ap2, that means they PASSED on the ap1.

however, ap1 owners that switch to ap2 did NOT have the choice of choosing ap2, thats why you hear of ap1 owners switching to ap2. But you will not hear of ap2 owners switching to ap1.

Does anyone else see this logic? Or am I alone on this one.

Since when is an '03 a downgrade? Even an '00 is better than an '05.

Read the first post and try to stay on topic please.

Personally, I like the 00-03 inner workings and the 04-05 bodywork, but that's just me.

I bought an '04 because I wanted a new car, not a used '03 or a left over '03 that had 300 miles worth of test drives on it. I found a couple of those!

I was, when I first read of the engine changes, mildly disappointed in the loss of the 9k redline, I was looking forward to that part! But I'm not diappointed in my 2.2L in any way.

Having said that, if Honda discontinued the S2000 tomorrow and my car was totalled the day after (heaven forbid!) I'd strongly consider looking for a relatively low mileage '02 or '03 just so see what the other side is like. I'm certain I'd be satisfied with either but to trade my '04 for an older car, no way!

very well put. i choose a 05 as well, because the pure fact of having a brand new car.

i wasn't talking to you.
wow don't get so defensive.... you stated... "however, ap1 owners that switch to ap2 did NOT have the choice of choosing ap2, thats why you hear of ap1 owners switching to ap2. But you will not hear of ap2 owners switching to ap1."

and this was right after my post where i specifically stated that i HAD a choice of an ap1 or ap2 both BRAND NEW WITH 3 MILES on the odometer.. and i chose the ap1....

well it looks like i'm an owner of a brand new ap1.. and i had a choice of picking an ap2..... I make your statement 100% wrong...

ok so here it is, i'm on the border of which model to buy an my03 or a my04, (no this is not another one of those which is better threads), i have been reading and soaking all the information i can.

so my question is i know that alot of owners have "upgraded" to a my04/my05 for many of reasons, but i haven't come across to many threads where someone owned a my04/my05 and decided to "downgrade" to a my03.

by downgrade i do not mean a bad thing, more of i want an 9k redline and so one.

so if you have done this or considered it please voice your opinion. thanks to those who respond.

hope i don't get flamed for this one.......
I haven't exactly gone from the '04/'05 to the older ones but I do own an '05 and an '01. When I first got the '05 I was disappointed in it because I was so used to the '01. I missed the 9K rev and the feel of driving the '01. The '05 picks up quicker and the stereo is better sounding but it honestly took me a good 3 months of driving the '05 to like it better. Now that I'm used to it, I would rather drive it.

So, I agree with what someone else already said, it's just what you are used to. They are both great.
