US alignment specs vs Euro specs...
Im getting my alignment done next week, and i remember reading that the Euro s2k's run different alignments...
what is the Euro alignment?
what is the US spec alignment?
Now what is the main difference between the two?

[QUOTE=revhi,Jun 22 2005, 02:02 PM] Frank Frank Frank, thought youd know better and search. Euro gives the car a more neutral feel, less snap oversteer.

Can you actually dial out the snap oversteer I've heard about regarding the S2000?
I currently drive an '03 Miata but I'm really interested about stepping up to the S2000 but the snap oversteer is a big concern of mine. The Miata has been a great little car, very tossable, very forgiving, and is pretty easy to catch if you hit a bump in a corner or the chassis is unsettled some how. I've had the car aligned at a race shop and and adjusted the shocks so it exhibits more neutral handling. I just worry that with the extra power and speed potential in the S2000 that it may be too easy to get really screwed up in the car.
Any purchasing decision is out far enough that I haven't really bothered about a test drive right now. And I wouldn't be pushing the car during a test drive anyways.
How 'bout it, can the snap oversteer be dealt with? (besides developing driver skill, of course)

I saw from the UK thread that those settings only apply best to 2k0-2k1.
Just to clarify, are they also designed for 2k2-2k3?

You are coming from a RWD car. You know not to drastically increase or decrease throttle mid-corner. You'll be fine. Get the car!

I have the UK specs on my '02 and love it. The car feels much more planted. Tires wear quicker though...
I find it perfect for daily driving and occasional autocross.

This is blown waaaay out of proportion. Most of the stories you hear are from guys that have never driven a RWD car before. In fact, many have never even driven a stick.

That was one of the reasons I was looking more closely at the '04+'s since I heard they are a bit more stable than the 00-03's in corners and the chassis won't be upset as easily due to difference shock/spring/swaybar specs. One of those situations where the "'04's are a better car where as the '00-03's are a better S2000" arguement?
Well it sounds like it perhaps ins't the problem I thought it might be, just exercise the usual caution going through the corners, eh?
Still trying to figure out which engine characteristics I'd like better, the 00-03's or the 04+'s. But that's for another thread. It sounds like the handling characteristics aren't as critical of a decision factor as I thought them to be and can be adjust if it I find it a big deal.
Thanks guys.
