I jumped on my 06 even though prices seemed to have gone up because it was very clean inside and out. +1 on the "what did you pay for your used s2000" thread. Prices vary a bit seasonally and regionally as well! Good luck, the search is half the fun.
Nada is slightly lower than market values since many people under report the purchase price to pay less in taxes.

I, too have been looking, I have found that edmunds, clearbook and nada seem to be closer to actual market values.
In turn, trying to find a fair price with some dealers is next to impossible. I found a 2008 in jax for 22,900 w/48k miles which is
about market for good condition, and the mechanics/interior were that, but the front bumper was way misaligned and the body had many
spots that looked like rail rash, not to mention the poorly repaired top. The dealer barely budged from that price to 22.

Monitor cars for sale in your region and build a spreadsheet. Take 5-10% off the asking price and track over time. Building a matrix this way is the best indicator for pricing in your area. Remember, salvage title cuts the price a lot.

Search nationwide on autotrader, cars.com, craigslist, and ebay. Do that for a while and you'll get an idea of what they're really selling for.

Truly clean & low mileage cars are hard to find, maybe 5% of all the cars out there.

Of the 3 sites, NADA is the most accurate/reliable, although it's still off.
Thanks, NADA did seem to be the most reasonable of the three. And I did check that thread, but found it difficult to assess the real value since the majority of the cars listed there have been at least light modification done. At that point, sometimes people have an unrealistic idea of how much of their money they can get back from what they spent on mods. This seems to skew the price in cases like that.
In my experience, NADA is the best one to gauge pricing by, but as was already said, it's not always in line with true market value. Banks that I've used to get loans for cars have always gone by NADA as a guideline... I don't know anyone who uses KBB or Edmunds.

@OP Are you using private party or dealer? I've also found that KBB seems to put a big value on low miles vs. younger years, so if it's an older low mileage car KBB probably shows up high. Seemed off when I looked at Honda Preludes as well. That trend line from caraficionado seems to suggests 8c/mile, or $240 difference between the first and second groups below. KBB also has weird jumps in prices between years in general.

[Very good condition]
with 90K miles:
07 $14189
08 $14235
09 $13088 (something wrong with the last year?)

with 87K Miles
07 $14675 (16 cents a mile...)
08 $14727
09 $13548

Personally I'd rather pick an 08 with a couple thousand more miles than the 07, and definitely an 09 lol
