useless mods
alot of members on this forum spent hundreds(and even thousands) of dollars on useless mods, to help other members out let them know about mods you have bought that are useless or know FOR A FACT are useless. i will start with my useless mods,
intake. Do not remove the stock intake sysetem to spend $ on a system that re routes hoses and makes your engine bay look cheap. i have spend over $500 on intakes (2 of them) and wish i just got a snorkle and cooling plate.
STB. this mod is for bling only. The suspension design of the s2000 makes a STB worthless. if you want added looks its ok, but dont spend too much money on one unless you love the looks of one over another
cooling mods, i have the spoon thermostat, fan switch mods and noticed no improvment at all. i got the mods through a group buy so i got them cheap but i have noticed no difference under street and track driving. a CEL even turned on and the proplem was "engine temp too low" dealership voided my warranty and would not even clear the code without one hour of service paid out of my pocket. i had a local shop do it free.
cusco 3 piece chasis bars. they weigh 25lbs, cost me $300 and did nothing for performance.
if you have spent money on other mods which have not helped you at all post them here to help other members save time, frustration and money.

Bottle of 75shots VtaK gas
headlight blinker fluid
YAW control computer
Okay..serious now
The only reason i got the S is that i am tried of the boosted accord, it's too much work, too much money, too much time and too much things can go wrong.
with that in mind, my S is 99percent stock
here couple of my useless mod:
front strut bar(40 dollar down the drain)
Yellow high beam(tired of getting flashed everyday for OEM HID)
headlight blinker fluid
YAW control computer

exhaust, header, intake (it's not completely useless.. although snorkel and cooling plate might be just as good) can give you up to 20hp if you buy the right parts. VFAC, EMS, Hondata gasket

What are the useful mods then other than the SC or turbo upgrade ???
I'd say the only bolt-on power mod that's "cost-efficient" is a single exhaust w/ test pipe. This can net you 7-15hp depending on which you get, and shave off anywhere from 30-50 pounds. Intake snorkel is also relatively cheap, and keeps you from "kangarooing" on hot days. I'm not sure how benifital it is in performance driving.
As stated above, shock tower bars are useless when it comes to chassis stiffening.
Carbon hoods are useless if you are buying them for weight reduction, as most are either heavier than stock or only shave a few pounds. They can, however, be useful in venting the engine bay, and they look good
