V1 owners
I'm listening to this one too.
For now, I put mine on the windshield to the right of the mirror and ran a flat wire cord down to the center console and back to the power plug. Simple and fine when I'm alone in the car.
BOY AM I IMPRESSED at how much better the V1 is than my Passport 4600!

I did this:
First I lowered the roof.
Then I ran the V1 wire (the flat, not the coiled) under the rubber seal that runs across the top of the windshield and that contacts the roof when it's down. I just stuffed the cord under there all the way down from the passenger's "sun shade" down to the driver's footwell.
In the driver's footwell, I located the fusebox. I pulled a fuse that was hot when the ignition goes on (I just tested a few until I found one.) I cut and stripped the insulation off the end of the v1 cable in the driver's footwell and plugged the fuse in over the exposed part of the V1 cable. (There's probably a better way to tap into the fusebox, but I don't know how.)
Works perfectly.

I have mine hardwired as well. The cord runs behind the winshield frame and emerges behind the right visor. The cord is totally hidden when the V1 is not in use. I use the visor clip and plug it in when I hit the highway.
I've also got the concealed remote hardwired into the system. It's below the dash on the right. I'd suggest mounting it a bit higher if you don't live in a radar-illegal state like Virigina.

For now I use:
1. Suction cup mount just below rear-view
2. Flat silver ( my s2k's color ) phone cord runs straight down from the v1 to the cargo net. Wrap around the knob of the cargo net then run cord under the lip of the center console to the accessory plug.
What I want to do:
1. Continue to use the suction cup mount where it is.
2. Run power cord behind the plastic windshield cover, down behind the a-pillar cover and then hard wire it into a power source.
3. Put the remote unit on the flat spot in front of the steering wheel.
I think it is small enough to fit there and not block any gagues. Has anyone else thought of putting the remote unit here?

It's not difficult to remove the a-pillar, but why bother? The cord fits under the rubber seal and stays put and doesn't cause leaking or anything.
I used to use tom's method (through the cargo net), but I got sick of looking at that wire. I love having it hardwired.

I don't have one of my own, but I have used one of these bad boys on a number of occasions. A very VERY impressive device, saved my butt many a'times! I ran the wire inside the a-pillar. The cover comes off very easily...just grab it at the top and pull up and out (towards the inside of the car) and it comes right off.
I'll be adding a V1 to my arsenal before next season...
