Unhappy V1 & POP radar?

Has anyone(with V1) had any issues with POP radar lately?

I was pulled over yesterday by an unmarked Impala(in the GOV, not the S) and I had no warning. The detector went off when he was about 100m in front of me, so not only was it obvious when I slowed down, he proably saw me mouth ! when I saw him. He said he clocked me at 81, but did not give me a ticket, this makes me wonder if he was able to get an accurate reading in such a short time.

I recently passed by one of those side-of-the-road radar speed displays... myV1 never even peeped. Keep meaning to ask them about that...

Same thing happened to me this past weekend in Delaware, thought my V1 was screwed up.

Instant on radar in the K and/or Ka band. Very common. Not much you can do about those other than drive "smartly" (observe on-coming traffic, look for hiding spots where THEY might be).

V1 is an excellent unit. I've had mine since the early 90s.

A lot of cops in I see in fl like to wait until your close before they turn the radar on but i've been having alot of POP false alarms with my bel rx65. Anyone know of anything that can trigger a POP false alarm ?

I've got one of the Passport 8500 X50's with the POP feature. By default the unit ships with POP disabled so I enabled it and seem to get lots of false alarms. Thinking of going back to the factory default settings.

Anyone find POP detection useful?

I have a rocky mountain phantom(dunno what series) but whenever ive came up on those speed things on the side of the road, they never read my speed until i get REALLY close, like 100 or so yards, until then sometimes it goes back and forth from like 5 to 105, or it just blinks red lines.......
