V2 on an 04+car where does it pull air from?

V2 on an 04+car where does it pull air from?
I read the how to on the V2 intake on an early car and it clearly was right by the vent for cold intake. Maybe this is silly but the vents are blocked on the newer cars, where does it pull air from?

The vents are blocked on the older cars, too. They all draw air from the same place. There are slits on the undertray and air gets in from all kinds of places. That compartment is not air tight.
unless you physically cut out the vents yourself, all vents on all years are covered.
