V8 to 4 cylinder?
Thanks for the input guys! Given my previous experience with Honda owners (...the winged and stickered "yo, yo" crowd...), I was a bit concerned about getting flamed. I will definately pick up the S2000 book this weekend. So far, the Honda is at the top of my list and I am looking forward to a test drive this spring. I know I'll miss the torque, but that mind boggling 9k RPM redline will probably keep me entertained. My Cobra sounds incredible near redline (it hits the limiter at 7200), so I can only imagine what the Honda sounds like at the limit. I also like the fact that you don't see too many S2000's around (something I appreciate with my Cobra, as well). Do any of you lease you car? I was wondering what the residual value is on a 24 month lease...it has to be better than what I got on the Cobra. Thanks again!
I went from a Porsche 928 to the S-2000...you will notice a differance in the "brute force" (ie torque) but that little detail is far out-weighed by the car's handling and "zippy" feeling...I still have the 928 and now when I climb in it I feel like I'm driving a tank...one of the things I liked about having the 928 is that there aren't that many on the road...same with the S-2000...
If your only concern is going from V-8 to 4-cylinder then I'd highly recommend the move...you can thank me later...hehehe

The risidual values on the S2000 are high. Meaning your buyout is higher, however, it helps you during the course of the lease and makes your payments cheaper than if you had a low risidual value.
i had 2 TT supra before i purchased the S2000 1 was stock the other was not. I really liked the S when i test drove it and for the first 2 or so months of owning it but after that i started to really miss the higher power of the supras and sold the S about 2 weeks and lost 7k ( which i planed on loosing money because of it being a new car im not complaing.) A week later afetr selling the S i bought another supra.
If you like high powered cars and raw power my advice to you is test drive the S a few times and drive the shit out of it and make sure its what you want because i paid for my mistake.

I had a '94 Z28 and a '97 Supra TT BPU++ w/ 480 hp, and the S2000 is the most fun to drive car I've ever owned. I can't say I haven't missed the Supra's power at times, but the S2000 is the better car for me.
Okay.. Here is the smacker! I went from a '97 SS Camaro to a '93 Viper to an Audi A4 to the S2000. Okay.. Talk about high horsepower and Torque. Try driving a stock viper (well.. mine was not exactly stock. 450 hp to the RW..) Anyway, I do regret getting rid of the Viper! Long, long story why I got rid of it but now I have an S2000 and a WRX. Everytime I drive the S2000, I am happy as hell. I love the WRX but it is no S2000. Anyway, I hear what you are saying. My advice would be to test drive one and don't stay under 6500 RPM's. That will make you realize what it can do. If you only drive it under 6500 in the test drive, you will never know because I am sure you won't buy it.. I took mine out to 8900 in the rain on the test drive. Scared the crap out of the dealer. What a blast that was. The S2000 is not the Viper, but it is my next choice in cars (under 60k of course.) Keep in mind that if I didn't have the WRX and the S2000.. I could have another Viper (used GTS
).. But I don't and still enjoying every day!
Cornfish
(28 on Sunday.. Lame)

When you go test drive one, make sure that you test a USED one. Otherwise if you VTEC a new one, you won't be as impressed since they gain so much power after break in.
If you want to see it's full potential, test a used one.

yeah im making the change,
mustangs are so cool but now im 21 i want something with no backseats and a lil more class.
the best part is when i get a used s2000, there all the same.
option wise

I went from an '85 Corvette (230hp/330tq at wheels) to the S. The Vette was stock and I ran 14.0 the first and only time I took it to a strip. With the Vette the initial acceleration was gut-wrenching and violent (especially with 315/35/17 Drag Radials) but the ol' L98 pooped out at about 4500 rpm. I am having as much or more fun with the S. It is a different kind of speed, one that sneaks up on you. If I had a lot more time and money I would like to have both the S2000 and a torquemonster like the 'vette.
Maybe this is a little off, but from driving many dif types of cars I would say in general muscle cars feel faster than they are. To the contrary the S might not feel as fast as it is. Personally I have a lot of reasons for choosing the S. When I bought mine this Sep I test drove many dif vehicles including the: 2003 Cobra, 2003 350Z, WRX, a used boxster, a used RX7, etc etc etc. The S was just downright addicting. It is very hard to look at the car as a whole without driving it. You reall have to take into account the whole driving experience and to do that you must drive it. No set of numbers can tell you how much fun you will have with a car. In any case recently I have found a few magazine test numbers to be unforgiveable. I personally wouldn't trust any of the U.S. car magazines anymore. If you really want numbers get a G-Tech pro and grab some numbers
Oh, well that's just my take. Good luck in choosing you next vehicle, whatever it may be.
