Anyone ever considered a hartley v8? or ever heard of them?
Not sure if they'd put out the torque required to be practical for a car, even one as light as an s2k.
But basically, its two hayabusa 1000 [edit 1.4L] motors mated together into one v8. Weighs less than 200lbs, dry sump, and puts out 430hp out the box. capable of upwards of 500hp. No doubt it would fit, with plenty of room to spare

edit: i guess the reason its never been done, is because it costs almost as much as the car @ $30k. but if you happened to have two 'busa motors laying around, you could get the mating kit for 12k

There is/was no Hayabusa 1000.
1st gen Hayabusu = 1300cc, 2nd gen 1340

So two of em is 2.6 or 2.7 liters, significantly more torque than a 2.0 or 2.2 liter S2k engine, and also bigger than F1 2.4 liter V8 (so not a "mini" F1 engine).

I'll take three of 'em

Maybe If i pissed money. from their website. "3.0 liter V8, approximately 425 hp. Engine is inclusive of hardware as described below.... $30,280"

Or you could get a LS9 with 630hp for 22k.

$22K for an LS9? For that kind of cash you would be better off throwing a blower on an LS2 for half that cost.
