Default VAFC 2 question

Im thinking of buying a VAFC2 from a fellow member... the very end of the wires, past where they connect, are cut. I was wondering if at the end of the cable there should be a harness or if they are supposed to be "loose". I plan on buying frog harness for it so I dont have to go into the factory harness and operate.

Here is a pic from the For Sale forum of a VAFC and Frog harness:

If memory serves from my install, and based on the pic, there is a small set of connectors at the end of the cabling coming from the VAFC unit. This plugs into the PnP harness, should you buy one.

That is normal...the 2nd cabling with the loose ends is only used if you choose to splice into the OEM harness.

The PnP Frog or Boomslang harness will plug into the small connector on the end of the cabling coming directly out of the VAFC unit.

Its fine you should just splice or solder those into your oem harness. Its fine does he have the install book so you know where your splicing it into.

While we are talking about harnesses, what kind of harness is the right one? I see all this OBDI and OBDII stuff and I have no idea which one to get. Also where is the best place to order a harness?

The S2k is OBD II.

There are 2 PnP harnesses that I know about:

Frog Harness (also available from HorsePower Freaks for a bit less money)

and

Boomslang

Many have the Frog...I have the Boomslang. Not sure there is much difference other than price.

It looks like they are both just over $140.

Thanks for the links.
