VAFC Questions
Just wanted to confirm some information on the site regarding the vafc. I saw the settings post on the vafc but was wondering if this would be the correct way to go about it.
I'm purchasing a Vafc II probably this week and wanted to make sure of some things.
1. Since I have an 00, I should see some good gains ontop since from factory 00-01 run rich.
2. You can only adjust WOT settings compared to partial throttle since the ecu will learn of these settings.
3. If you adjust WOT, can you start adjusting it at 3-4k rpm's.
4. For WOT, should you put it at 70-80 %. What setting do you leave the partial at, the same as the WOT.
5. Heard conflicting info on switching the vtec engagement point. Is it ok to switch it without any issues. Heard from some users that the vtec sometimes cuts off when you keep the car at vtec for a certain ammount of seconds.
Thanks

A VAFC is only as good as it's tuner...post in your local s2ki forum and ask for a recommendation for a good tuner in your area.
1) You should see 8-10whp
2) You can adjust the partials, but you will need to tune immediately after resetting the ecu and then regularly reset your ecu (usually about once per week or every 2hrs running time). Otherwise, the ecu will learn over the partials.
3) Your tuner can adjust from the rpm required, but 3k+ is really what will matter for most.
4) Your tuner should adjust that for you.
5) I used to run a VTEC engagement at 5200rpm without issue. Some tuners will leave it alone...others will smooth out the power curve so that the VTEC engages much lower.
