I believe that you are trustworthy! I wouldn't be making the offer if I didn't think you were or if I weren't trustworthy myself! I am not 'making' anything out of this, so ANY cost that I would bear financially would actually set me behind! (Besides, I couldn't order it until I'd received the moneyfrom you anyway - my wife and I just bought a house two days ago so we have no spare money at the moment!!).
I'm doing this on good faith - it's the kinda guy I am. Just ask DavidM in Australia - he'll back me up on my character anyday. He and I have been friends for about 8 years now.
I personally use PayPal for a lot of online purchases and it is failsafe. Go to: https://secure.paypal.com/affil/pal=sl_rich...s%40hotmail.com and open up an account. MAKE SURE YOU GO TO THE SECTION THAT SAYS "NOW INTERNATIONAL". When you transfer money to me, PayPal charges a 2% service fee, so please remember to add those funds in on top of the money you send. You'll get the detector so much cheaper anyway, the 2% will be meaningless.
PayPal can deduct funds directly from your credit card, bank account, or through money you transfer into the account. It gives you a lot of options. It will even direct deposit money that you receive directly into your bank account.
With regards to shipping......I'll send it UPS or FedEx to you (whichever is the more reasonable cost wise). I have my boxes still, so can measure them exactly for dimension and weight to get an accurate shipping cost. However, as these things can vary when you get to the customer counter....if you add about 20 pounds for exchange rate differences and shipping 'padding', I can use this as surpless funds and PayPal you back the balance once I know the final cost. I will scan and email all receipts so you can see that everything is all honest!
I won't pay Sales tax here as it is shipped to me out of state. As to VAT, I am unsure about what happens here. I know that I do not pay any tax in America for you - it is all done/borne at your end when the package enters customs in the UK - but if you DO have to pay VAT, I can do one of two things:
1. Send it marked as a 'Gift' and write the value down to much less. That way, you'll pay much less VAT
2. Mark it as a 'Repair/Modification' trade sample and also mark the value down substantially. Either way, you might end up paying VAT, but it will be NOWHERE near what you'd have to pay by buying it from those two places Nick purchased from in the UK.
It's your call, but the only downside of writing the value as less that what it physically is, is that if it does get damaged or lost in shiping, you'll only be able to claim the declared value as the insured value. So, you could come out a little worse off if that DID happen. Very rare though as the V1 is almost bombproof (good if you live in Ireland!!!!) and is packed very well in energy-absorbing foam. It will be double boxed as well. To ease your mind, all the commion carriers are VERY good. East Coast US to the UK is not that far and they'd do a lot of shipping b/w the two countries.
Valentine Research send the detectors out via 2 day air. So, if you sent me the money over the weekend, you could have it by next Saturday. Just go to http://www.valentineone.com and work out what you want from the site. I will then order it directly with an operator when I have the funds. I highly recommend the 'Remote Mount'. BTW, it detaches from the cigarette adapter pictured on the site and it's only about 2"x1"x1" in size. Valentine supply the hardwire kit, curly cord, cigarette adapter, velcro, windshield mount, visor mount and instruction manual.
If you can PM or email me your delivery address, I can get a very close estimate of the shipping cost for you. Just keep me in the loop as to what you want to do and I'll be happy to help Paul. As I mentioned, FedEx is only up the road, so I am not doing to much running around to get this to you. I just don't want to be out of pocket myself if I do this for you.

Sorry to be a pest but I still cannot connect to http://www.valentineone.com I would take your recommendations over what I should get to use in the S2000 i.e. accessories, etc without question but I of course need to know that the US spec radar detection is the same as UK (bands etc).
The info. I got from a UK radar company (along with the BIG BUCKS PRICE) was as follows:
Two radar antannae.
Detects K-Band (Gatso speed Camera)
Detects X-Band (Muniquip Radar Gun?)
Detects Ku-Band (Mini Gatso camera)
Detects Infra-Red Laser Gun.(Not confirmed at date of testing)
Detects Ka-band (Stalker radar Gun)
Does this sound like a comparable US model?

Paul, I am able to log on to Valentine without a problem. I'll call Valentine tomorrow and make like I am going on vacation to England. I'll ask them if it works there!
