I actually had a valet guy run out to get my car (about 50+ yards) and run all the way back asking how to start the car.

I valet park often, but I have the shift indicator/valet parking gizmo one of the members here was selling a while back. I activate it by holding a cruise control button down for over three seconds and if the RPM's rise above 5000, a siren inside the car screams like a banshee. It also records the highest RPM reached and it's almost always 5200.

BUSTED, JamesB!!!

I thought you told me I SHOULD valet my car b/c the valets took "extra special care" of the nice cars and now I catch you saying you would never valet you own car unless you HAD to!!!!!

I have only Valeted once (with my S), when attending an event at Ford's Theater in DC. well I had NO choice but to have it done, what's more I could not park it myself because they put the cars on an elevator . So I was all worried and everything, I decided to tip the driver both on the way in and when I picked up the car.

As for what kamehamaha said, I agree, it was a rush to have all the other men standing there ogling my car AND my date ...well then I did something that NO ONE else did when the car was brought out. I walked around the car and opened the door for my date! Well let me tell you that had the eye of all the WOMEN standing there!

So my worries were unfounded (at least that time )

So when you can't park it yourself, tip on the way in and on the way out! And go that extra mile for your date/wife and it will be noticed (and rewarded later )

We don't have valet parking at too many places in the old world, and we're not too big on tipping either (that's a whole other topic though). How much would you consider is a reasonable tip for a normal car, and how much would you give for them to take special care of your S2000?
