Value of this Salvage S2000?
Hi all,
I've wanted to build an S2000 track car for some time now, so I've been looking for salvage title AP2s. I found one near me that's in good shape powertrain/drivetrain wise, but has been in a front end collision and repaired pretty poorly.
Seller is ok with letting it go for $8000. What are all your thoughts? 2005, 128k miles, salvage title, was in a front end collision, no frame damage.
Thanks!

If the frame rails are good; I would get under the car get it on a lift and make sure the sub frame is ok. The sub frame can be swaped out note an ap1 is cheaper then a ap2 subframe; if you are turning into a track car get the spoon bushing and full spherical suspnesion bushing kit if the arms are bent or bad. This is pretty common with a salvaged car.

I got under the car and the subframe looks good. Just the cosmetic repairs to the fenders/fender liners/bumper aren't that good.
I'm wondering if this is a fair price for this condition of car..

The miles are a bit on the high side. The motor might need to be swaped out or rebuilt could be costly. I would check the comp, oil, go from there. I think it's a fair price but not out of this world deal
Check the motor mounts, diff mounts, stuff that will need to be changed out around 100k, tct belt ect
