Default Valve adjustment comfort

I decided to do my annual retainers and valve adjustment spec check this weekend. Satisfying to do, but never fun having to bend over and adjust the 3rd and 4th cylinder valves, trying to contort fingers into such a small space. At the very least, can could i come at it from a better angle. So why not get right into the engine bay- there's gotta be room...right?

My lower back does not like doing the valves. So I keep putting it off, lol...

Valve adjustments are hard on the back, even worse on lowered S2000's. That's the only reason why I have a strut bar in my engine bay, they really help with the valve adjustment process with a much needed resting spot.

That's what I call jumping in and tackling the job Darcy, nice work !

You should also move the hood prop to the passenger side to better clear your head from the hood

I always thought rigging up an engine hoist to do something like this would be easier on the back.

build a work bench the same height as the fenders with an over hang to lay on. A few 2x4s and a sheet of plywood can go a long way. Use it for shelving when done!

Haha, what a coincidence, this is the exact thing I did when I changed out my valve retainers and then valve adjustment just this weekend! My back's been sore for three days and counting.

Popping the hood upright and removing the heatshield helped me a lot on doing the adjustment.
