Well, I'm finally the victim of senseless vandalish.

There's also three small holes in the softtop where they stuck whatever they used on the door through it. Just to add insult to injury they also urinated on the drivers (RHD) door handle.

The car was parked at Secure Parking (the irony doesn't escape me) at Doltone House near the Sydney Casino. It's an open air carpark with a pay booth at the entrance. The attendant asked me how much I paid for the car, and I told him. I wasn't smart or snobbish or anything. A couple of his mates were hanging around their car nearby. I had a bad feeling about it, but hey, hindsight is called hind-sight because you may as well stare at you arse.

I'm really not sure how I feel about this yet. I'm from British stock. We don't express our anger, we just die early of a colon disorder.

At the end of the day, it's going to cost me insurance excess. I've got protected no claims bonus so my premiums won't increase. I actually feel very sorry the person or peoples who perpetrated this senseless act of vandalism. Imagine if your life was so screwed that you felt the overpowering need to try and upset someones elses. Fact is, in 10 years time I won't even recall this incident. They will either remember it and be ashamed, or be so caught up in their hatred that it'll be lost amongst all the other senseless acts they call their life. Personally I'd rather be me.

Envy is ugly. Sorry your car was the subject of such disgraceful conduct. Good luck on a perfect repair. Maybe the Casino should kick in for the repairs.

Any chance of getting security for the casino to help? Atleast report to them that the guys friends made you unfomfortable and give descriptions. They can prveent them from coming back. You might get lucky and they will have a video? This may help prevent the next guy from getting hit.

I agree with you about the atitutdes of the people who did it. I also feel that you took this much better than I would.

This is my worst fear. that some idiot (jealous ricer, envious boxster owner, or v8 honda hater) will cut the top or do some stupid crap like this.

My only wish would be that I would catch them. I'm glad Brits deal with their anger better then cajuns do. I would of hunted down that attendant and pinned his head to the concrete pissed on his head then go find his mates.

That sucks. At least they restricted it to just the door and not every panel ?? Not very smart vandals at that. They usually go after every panel so you have to repaint the whole car.

I would spend do two things:

1. Go to a police station and make out a report.
2. Have your lawyer send the car park owner a letter describing the incident and asking for damages. They say they are not responsible but being a secure lot they really are.

At the very least idiot boy gets fired and should.

Sorry to hear it.

If this happened to me, I'd be beside myself with anger.

Sorry about the car.

I agree with cthree (again) on your course of action.

It amazes me that people get off on damaging other people's belongings.

I guess they decided you didn't deserve such a nice car. Aren't some people just great? Who taught them to act like that? Makes me sick to my stomach to see that. Good luck with your repairs.
