How many of you folks leave your top down when parking? Do you or do you not think that it helps deter vandalism and theft?

 

y would leavin ur top down deter theft? I would think that would increase it?

 

I meant deter theft of material belongings ... since it basically calls out "top is open since there's nothing worth stealing here"

 

NM this thread ... I didn't know that S2K seats are a hot commodity. No more leaving the car top down for me.

 

If they want the seats, your top being up or down isn't going to matter.

Other than that, if I'm going to be in visual range, and it won't be too long, I'll leave the top down, windows up. The windows create just enough of a bitch factor to deter a fast robbery of anything inside.

Burger King trash in it once (fries everywhere).

Empty beer bottle in it once.

Top down sends the signal 'I am a trash receptacle...please put trash here and don't be a litterbug'.

 

Rain can be very rude.

The queer looks I've gotten from other cars on the highway in the rain with the top down are funny. But the rain and poop stay out. If people are busy gawking at you, they're usually too busy to throw french fries.
