You all are starting to scare me...
Once it gets here I will try to bolt it up and see what happens.
I hope they do let me return it if it doesn't fit..?

I really cant see why it wouldn't, but I'll keep everyone updated.
I was told it would be in toward the end of April.

Leo Gets,

I talked to Morris my friend/owner of Boom Plus Toys, and he isn't aware of having taken any order for a VGS steering wheel and badge. Are you sure you have ordered??

You are talking about the Boom Plus Toys in Vancouver Canada right?

It won't fit a couple of years ago a bunch of s2000 owners went to Japan and got a tour of the Honda plant that makes s2000s. They got to spend time with Honda engineers in a round table discussion. The even got to spend time in the VGS (driving it around). One of the first questions was about the steering wheel. The engineer told them that the spines were different and would not work. You would have to change the entire steering column. If you do a search you will be able to find the thread. The also got to tour Mugen headquarters courtesy of Scot from King Motorsporsts.

The car has been out for 4 years now and most of the parts have remained the same. Doesn't something just tell you that if it could have been done it would have been done by now.

Yep,

The general consensus was that there was a different number of splines on the regular steering S2000 versus the VGS S2000, so the wheel will not fit regular S2000's.

I believe there was speculation that Honda did this for safety purposes, so that you could not "debadge" a VGS car - you always know you are in a car with variable geared steering, and vice-versa.

When you think about it from a liability standpoint, it makes perfect sense.

I talked to Morris about this. I even sent him a link to this thread. Actually he doesn't know if it fits the US spec s2k. He wasn't aware of fitment issues and only thru this thread does he realize that it mightn't fit. You may want to cancel the order for the steering wheel. Morris even said he should perhaps remove the VGS s/w from his website if it is found to not fit.

Yep, I placed the order here locally, through Pacific Performance. Darin told me he was going to use Boom Plus Toys because AJ Racing will not get any soon.

Dude,

Swap the whole steering rack in! Then you will have the only VGS S2000 in North America. Just make sure the rack fits LHD cars.
