Default veilside cover installation

Does anyone here have a veilside tonneau cover? If so do you find that it's impossible not to scuff up the black rubber trim around the soft top? I must say too that those metal clips that this cover comes with are sharp as hell and I have a few scratches from them. I love this cover and it definately gives the car a facelift but just wondering what to do to avoid scuffing up the rubber trim. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

Wrap the metal tabs in felt tape maybe? I've never seen the hardware on one so this is just a guess.

You may want to see if you can find some 3M clearbra material and wrap the metal tabs in it. This will take care of the problem for you while allowing the cover to still fit tight.
