Is that dyno even possible with a stock s2k engine with just the turbo?

If so I am going to:

1) Wet my pants.

and

2) Start saving instantaneously.

By the way you cannot beat a free brand new engine. Jealousy is an understatement.
yes it is stage 6 motorsports has done it.... 22 psi , race gas and a stock f20 with 125k miles = 601hp the thread is in the FI fourm... you will be amazed...

seen it in person and its insane...

Turboing will insue very soon, as I was waiting for this to happen.
That's probably how the first engine got in such sorry shape. With the engine compression ratio at ~11-1, I'm truly supprised that any of the engines last for any reasonable period of time with the manifold pressure being increased any significant amount. Beyond a certain cylinder pressure, gasoline/air mixtures detonate instead of burn. After you turbo, start checking the tips of your spark plugs for very small deposits of aluminum from the tops of your pistons. Happy trails!

Plenty of people on here with significant mileage on boosted motors, so you may want to rethink your statement.

No need to rethink the issue. Plenty of clueless people on here with damaged engines that don't have the slightest idea what happens in boosted engines that are designed to be normally asperated.

there are a bunch of people on the boards running high boost turbo and supercharger applications, anyone that knows anything about boosting, will know that to do it right, you must lower the CR. That can be done in 3-4 hours by adding a thicker headgasket.

If it is totally stock with no aftermarket junk on it, then it was probably treated decently. If you can get a Honda dealer checkout for only $75, then that might be good investment (Honda certification inspection?). If it has anything changed from stock in the engine compartment (or you see any indications that there has been any tinkering in the engine compartment), then I'd get the checkup while carmax would have to foot the bill for any issues.
even if you get it checked out, there are still porblems that could be lurking without even knowing.

sure you can get a compression check, leakdown. A very common problem with s2000's is that people that don't know how to drive them have a tendency to over-rev or miss shift. This will turn the retainers into ticking time bombs just waiting to let a valve go. A honda technican will easily overlook this, because the retainers crack on the underside, which is not visable with the naked eye.

if i ever bought a used AP1 I would have the valve retainers and keepers changed out to ap2 parts. The parts are only about 60-100 bucks, cheap insurance if you ask me.
