Default VGS S2K

Hi Guys,

Bit of advice please?? I have a imported a VGS that was slightly damaged. This has been fixed now, but obviously the VGS comes with the GT bodykit.

In the repairing of the car (just front wing damage and some suspension etc), the bit that goes on the rear part of the side skirt is damaged. But only one side is. I don't actually know what this part is call. It sits just infront of the rear wheel, triangle shaped on top of the side skirt. Does anyone know its name as I need to get a replacement one for one side?

Here's a picture of the part I am talking about:

Thanks!

It's called a side strake. When removed, it does leave a couple of holes, so replacing it is the best option.

They're $325 a set from hardtopguy. See here:

the thing is, the damaged one just has the corner missing (i.e. the corner on the bottom corner of the side skirt) so I wonder if it is repairable. I don't really want to leave them off as I think they look pretty nice, but $325 seems a bit steep! especially seeing as I only need one

also, it looks like hardtopguy's are from the new GT kit, not the old one, i.e. on the 2001

Maybe the repair shop could build it up with bondo and repaint it?

They are all the same.

To repair it, you would have to do it on the car. If you take it off the car, you will almost certainly destroy the key attachment clip and they do not sell this clip as an independent part.

This is what I'd do, but I need a better pic to really see the extent of the damage.

Damage the other one to "even them out". That's what I do. Rock chip on the left? Rock chip on the right. Curb rash on the left rear wheel? Curb rash on the right rear wheel.

It is already off the car - my mechanic took it off while doing repair work. So I think I will look into what Diamond Dave said. When I get the car resprayed, I will see if they can fix that as well.

Cheers guys!
