guys. just got an 02 s2000. and when im driving with the roof up i get this buzzing like sound from behind my head

theres 2 different tones. 1 is louder than i can hear when radio is on very quiet. and the other is very quiet as in i can only hear it when radio is off

sounds like a buzzing sound. almost electrical buzzing sound

any idea where this could be coming from?

i checked the spare tire and its screwed in tight. and also checked the tool kit and everything is in place

 

btw. the noise could be there when the top is down too. except i cant quite hear it due to road noise and traffic and millions of other factors

 

what rpm? I get a big time sound like you are describing @ 4,500 rpm

 

its not really an rpm. i think ur describing the clutch buzz

i dont have clutch buzz in an 02

it mostly happens after 50km/hr or 35mph

and its coming from behind my head.

 

If I remember correctly there is clutch buzz on some MY02, I get it occasionally. But only after driving it real hard.
