Video of S2000 hitting 174mph...
LOL.... wow.... not gonna admit to going 140mph on I-95 after going to the drag strip, but if i did it would have felt CRAZY
!! Thats abosolutly crazy! Props man... one q', where did this happen? Was it legal? I'm not condoning it or uncondoning it..... i just want to know for future references....

Downhill like this on the video 174mph is not a problem for a S2K.
I drive many times on the German Autobahn and on plain road i hit easily about 155 mph, but with 18" Wheels.
With stock wheels your are able to get faster, because the bigger rims on the 18" are more wind restricted (hope i spelled this correctly
)
BTW Turbodaves car was not equipped with a Turbo. He had some Mugen Mods, like ECU.

I am sorry, but I do not accept that an S2000 without power adders could hit that speed, given its aerodynamics. I have not seen a certified top speed run by any test magazine on a NA S2000 that came anywhere near 155 mph either, although downhill with a tailwind it is possible I suppose.
And with oversize tires and even with stock tires, small differences in ride height from size differential or air pressure could make the indicated speed inaccurate.
Isn't the theoretical top speed of the car 163 mph with its stock gearing and assuming it can hit redline in 6th?

On the german S2K-Owners Club we have tested it. And with stock rims some managed to get up to 270 km/h.
And redline 6th gear with such a brutal downhill on this belgium road on the video this is absolut possible.
And the theoretical top speed of the car is 173 mph (00-03 model)

If for the sake of the argument the car had 145/30 18" on the front wheels the speedo would
read 13.9% higher that you are really going.
So with those off size tires the speedo would read 171MPH when you are really going at 150MPH.
Not sure you could fit a 145/30 tire on a 'normal' aftermarket wheel (18") ...... or could you?
and "145mph with the top down on I-5". Hubby hates driving with the top down because he can feel the lag
Besides, I love driving with the kmh on instead of mph when there is a passenger. It's funny to see them freak at 100 kmh
